Launching "disasters"

Few months back, "Power" was launched. And now comes "Tech Services". Generally, every launch will be expected to be good or do good or atleast "look" good, especially to employees of/related to same company. But we, the so called "proud employees" of our company should'nt be doing that. In fact, its normal to find these people banging their heads against walls, tables or..u name it...any thing thats good enough to hit your head against. Wondering why? well, heres the answer!! sorry..answers to be precise. When Power was launched, like any other company, strategy played a crucial role in the launch. But if you think it made people (read proud employees of our company) happy, you are terribly mistaken. Heres the strategy. The caller tune of Reliance mobile customers who dont have a caller tune was changed to the "Go India POWER......Ta RuM Pum POWER. Sab ko hein POWER" (actually I dont remember the words). Its like a group of men sh...

Yo Yo

Yesterday evening Abhi and I went to gym to get back a forgotten towel of a friend. When coming back, I remembered that I should withdraw some money from ATM. So, we went back, collected the cash, and came back to our block. After we reached the tripod, I searched for my ID card to swipe and then realised that I kept it on the ATM machine and forgot. This time, to our surprise, we saw that the card is still there, but the YoYo is gone!!! :o :o :o Obviously the person who came after me stole it! :x We were like.....how come a person could be this greedy/lazy about a yoyo...its just a matter of 5 mins walk to collect it. Donno how many more twists are awaiting me here

Best one ever!!!

Mak, Arun and I went to the coffee place in our wing. Abhi already told he wont be coming. But after coming to the coffee place, Arun took out the hotwheels car from his pocket. He wanted to play "gaadi gaadi" in the coffee place!! :D Now we wanted Abhi to see this "gaadi". So Mak sent him a msg - "Arun ne gaadi leke aaya. U come now" After waiting for some 5 mins, we called him up and asked whts taking him so long. He said "I am waiting outside our block. Where r u ppl?" thinking tht its a real car :)) Well thats not all. When he came up, he said tht he saw tht Arun and I were not at out desks and so he went down! :o Now, after he got his hands on the car, he turned around, confirmed that nobody else is coming this way. He started playing around like a 5 yr old making sounds "whoommmmmmmmmmmm" One guy turned up and happened to ask this question "Is the sound coming from the car?". lol. After some time, our HOD turned up!! We ...

The guys who faced the train

Three brave boys decided one night to walk along "on" the rail tracks instead of walking on the road!! After walking for a short time, a train showed up with its head lamp from far ahead. The bravery in the person(1) who is on the lead took a short break and he slowed down. In his mind - "If I were Balayya, I would just have to raise an eyebrow or at max, hit my thigh hard enough to scare away the train (mind u, not the driver) so that it runs back on the same track". He thought "may be I should spare this train" and he got out of the way, and waved to the other two to do the same. The other two, who were coming side-by-side on either of the tracks heard him and saw the train. One of them got off as he dont want to show-off (well theres no one around even to see if he wish to show-off a bit). The other guy too came off the track and stood on the stones that lay beside the tracks. But as the train approached him (with the distance in between them less than ...

Me?? heh :P

Once upon a time, there lived two ppl....Wherever they went, they were together. They never existed individually. There was no "me"....they said its always "us"!!!. Now, as time passed by, one of them (to be read as "me") spent time carelessly. He enjoyed life to the fullest. Now the second one (to be read as the agony in "me") got frustrated with himself, felt jealous of "me" and searched desperately for happiness. Then a light (read acads) enlighted him. It said him that he can only gain happiness by seizing the happiness from "me". So, that same "me" was pushed off a cliff (read DA-IICT) into a nadir (read Corporate World) by the agony in him. Now this poor "me" got badly hurt. What all left behind is....an absconding paranoid . The paraniod who is afraid of the corporate world, which made him betray and kill the previous "self" in search of destiny. He is trying to escape from this nadir with ...

Me, lol and roflol

Well, dont mind abt the title...Read on..... Finally, we (most of the AP gang of DA-IICT '07) decided to meet in Hyd on 23rd Dec 07 (Now dont look at me like tht...I knw its pretty late to be typing this :P). So Arun and I booked tickets accordingly. That was the first time we attempted to board onto a local train with luggage :)) We successfully managed to reach the station 1 hour earlier. We found out just in 5 mins tht its difficult to pass time.. no no...to kill it literally. Somehow managed to kill tht 1 hr by buying and munching some junk food. Initially it looked like we wait for 5 mins for 1 min to pass on :(. But as tht 1 hr approached to the end, we were looking forward for the announcement with all the excitement. Then from nowhere, Murphy entered!!! the announcement came 10 mins later than expected, but gave rather unexpected info. Guess wht? our trains delayed by 1 hr!!!! :o :o :o Now dont ask me how I managed to kill this extra hour Hold on, hold on....thts not all......

LOL exercise

Officially its the second day of joining at RCOM. Its the induction class and the person incharge of it asked us to LAUGH OUT LOUD first looking at him and then at the adjacent ppl. Its like we look at each other and laugh. I donno abt the person incharge, but we truely laughed like hell for those few seconds. I wonder if this works out the same way if the profs at our coll do it :)) I really wondered if some of them can atleast come up with a smile :P. Well jokes apart, I really wished to make out some time to come back and blog. Thanx to my job, I finally ended up here :) Its been 3 months since I came to Mumbai and till date I dint go out to roam around (except a sunday...we went to Chembur and done some shopping).

From DA-IICT to DAKC

So much has happened in the last few months. I finally got the joining date but the bad thing is that they informed just 4 days before the date. We went from Hyderabad to Mumbai by bus. Some of my friends told that it would be difficult to go by bus, but it turned out to be an awesome journey. Not everything goes well as I always end up....I got the guest-house booked from 22nd but I wud land in Mumbai on 21st. I called the HR but she told she cud'nt help out. But God beat Murphy this time and showed some mercy. The guest-house ppl shifted my schedule a day before. It was Heaven-on-Earth experience for 15 days. Everything including the window-view is too good. ------------------- After 15 days, we shifted to a 1BHK(1 Bedroom, 1 Hall, 1 Kitchen) flat and its not that bad. we cud'nt find a small mirror in near-by shops and so we had to do some weird stunts for shaving :)) Arun followed Arjuna style for shaving. He poured water on bath-room floor and used that reflection. I blindl...

God is gr8 :)

Some times even Murphy gets tired...and in those rare situations, I end up excited with the things that are in store for me. Those of you who still dont know, I got selected in Reliance!!!! Waiting for the offer letter now. Recently I came to Hyderabad to meet some of my friends. And I called one of my friends in order to plan when to meet her. Somehow theres a cross connection and another girl answered the call and the conversation went on something like this: She: Hello Me: Hi, what r u doing? She: I am busy now...in office right now Me: OK can u call me in the evening today or tomorrow? She: OK Me: So where can we meet? She: Who is this? Me: I'm Satish She: Who is Satish? Me: r u XXX? She: no Me: oh..sorry Now dont think I'm bluffing....I really am not. This happened yesterday morning.

The good, the bad and the ugly (abt placements)

It wud seem rather funny to read abt placements and interviews in this month of september....but wid ppl like me, these kinda situations are quite common. But whats uncommon is the way I mess wid these situations as well. I applied for companies in elitmus. Waited long for jobs. Somehow my lappy and luggage were left with relatives and I got back home after attending a couple of marriages (one in hyd and another in vja) on the same day. Now I thought of attending adiance and reliance in coll and booked tickets. After I landed here in DA-IICT, I chk my mails only to see tht one company called for interview and the deadline for accepting it expired just the previous day!!! ---------------------------------------------------- I attended Adiance and they dint call for the interview after having a face to face talk, couple of questions and viewing my resume. These are the only factors they consider to shortlist for the interview and no written test. -----------------------------------------...

From DA-IICT

Hello ppl.. I thought coming back to DA-IICT will not be tht bad....after all I'm coming for a couple of weeks to attend a couple of companies I thought. But it turned out to be worse...no no...the worst one!!! Yes. Nostalgia strikes very hard when u come back to coll wid very few/none of ur frnds around u this time. While leaving DA-IICT after my final sem presentation, though I was sad, what made me feel good is that I'm going back home....after I came home I had good time roaming around and visiting all my relatives. But now, back in DA-IICT, when I stare at rooms where my frnds once lived, it hurts when I remember "those days". And the worst part is when I pass C-302...the room full of fun and joy...full of friends...cant help but remember all those memorable days. And when I enter the corridor, sometimes I forget the fact tht I am now staying in C-306 and go past a few rooms only to realize tht I am no longer staying in C-302. Most of the places remind me tht ...

Motorcycle Diaries

Loooong loooong ago...I used to blog :P well during the break (donno when its gonna end), I've decided to go with my dad to my grandparents place on the bike. I was told to go by bus as it was mid summer and this time the temperatures shot up above 45 degrees. But still, I thought it will be just a matter of 1:30 hrs. But it turned out to be one of the disasters. Not in the sense that we met with a road-accident, but with fate ofcourse. My dad dint listen to me when I said tht we cud fill up a few ltrs of petrol. He said the tank holds enough petrol to take us to the destination. In the mid way, we went to a relatives house and had lunch there itself. oh my...my expectation of 1:30 hrs journey turned out to be a dumb one there itself. Now guess what? Not even 20 mins passed by after leaving tht place, the bike stopped. The reason...the petrol got evaporated due to the hot sun :o :o :o I had to go some 4 kms to the nearest petrol dealer ( the pan-shop in the nearby village). Somehow...

One pleasant morning

******ONE PLEASANT MORNING****** I went out to meet my friends at the juice stall(our fav. meeting place). Asusual, we chatted for about half an hour and then when we were about to get back, one pretty gal passed tht way. So cute she was, I asked myself this is no dream. right?? As she went on her scooty, I cud'nt see her for even a minute. As she is passing by, blinding white light came upon. (The same was M.S explains his ad concept to venky in Vasu) All the while when seeing her, I could hear a song playing in the background. Even after that scene, the song was still playing so clearly. But from where????? And in the mean while, one of my friends started tapping me. I woke up rubbing my eyes, and Raghu was trying to wake me up. And ofcourse, the song is coming from the PC speakers. Damn! I shud have realized...from where else can it be heard? Actually that was a slow song with quite good music. The songs these days come up with nasty beats and crazy lyrics...takes u days...no no...

Another lousy post

DISCLAIMER: Anyone who wishes to waste their time reading a pointless post are welcome here. All the rest, I believe u've got better things to do :) I opened blogger. After logging in, I opened new post...I sit for 30 mins thinking about many topics but none seems to be either creative or interesting. After reading my past posts, my friends ask me to update more frequently....atleast frequently. But I'm afraid...I may literally end up with a post which seems like the movie the director comes up with at the film festival in the latest Mr.Bean movie.(Those of you who still dint watch it, can give a try :) ) Now about this movie Mr. Bean on a holiday, It literally shows the way Murphy's laws effect your life. Yesterday, we went out to eat at Sardar...and lemme tell u, by any chance u start off to a restaurant without confirming if it will be open or not, you will find tht it is CLOSE. And if you were on road, the empty autos go on the other side of the divider. When you someho...

Back after quite some time

Finally, after more than a months time, I won over my laziness and started off. With a few experiences, after a trip in the starting of march, I thought of writing a blog on it. Heres what I saved as a draft a week later when I came back. "Last Thursday early morning we went on a trip and covered Gir, Diu, Somnath, Dwaraka, Nageswar and Bet Dwaraka. On the whole the trip is a memorable one. The lions in Gir interpretation zone, The Diu fort in night lights, Diu beach, Somnath temple were the most beautiful sights I was able to cover during the trip".... This trip was totally unexpected. I felt that this would give me some relief from my routine life. It did give some relief :) And I also thought of writing about my very first temporary job in the infocity. That was one of the worst ever companies(if it deserves to be called so) I came across. Even after going regularly for 2 months, I got only half of the first months salary till now!!! Think that explains the elite situation...

I've been tagged !! episode-2

Mohan tagged me to write about the '7' series Seven things I wish to do before I die: 1. Make my parents happy about me in every aspect. Till I came to DA-IICT, I was able to accomplish this...but sadly after I came here, my star turned upside down. So I wish to set it upright to see the happiness in their faces again. Settling with a good job would help fulfilling this wish. 2. Travel in Garuda Express once. Though seems silly, this wish still remained unfulfilled 3. Ride on pulsar or a similar high end bike from my home to my grandparents home on an average speed of 100 kmph. I love speed. Thats it. 4. Meet my grandparents(paternal and maternal), uncles, aunts, cousins at a time and spend the time the same way as before.... 5. Watch a good movie with all my relatives. Though seems very easy, this is very difficult!! The last movie saw with my relatives(ammamma, nayanamma la tho saha) is "Muddula Mogudu" of Balayya. aa debba tho malli cinema ki rammante chethulettes...

I've been tagged !!

I've been tagged by Abhay. This tag is about the most embarrassing moment(s) in your life. I have only a few funny ones........here they go. This incident took place years back.... My cousin(hardly 8 yrs old) and me(2 years younger) went to uncles house with our parents.... While all r inside the house, I felt bored and came to the gate of the house. Few meters away, some stray dogs were fighting. After some time, somehow they all left.....except one. It slept at the same place. I noticed that it had a white patch on its back. So innocent I was, I thought that this dog could be tamed!!! coz I donno the difference between a Pomeranian and a stray dog. I went to it and slowly touched the white patch. The dog took my hand in its mouth (luckily it dint bite me) and then left as it was scared. I was more puzzled than scared. While this all happened, my cousin was watching me silently from the gate. Having seen such hilarious scene, he started laughing heavily. I dint realize the reason ...
