Go Go Goa

Day 3
------

We had a good night sleep and woke up at around 8 AM. Thanks to the previous day's bike ride, I woke up with body pains for being the sole rider of Karizma. We had coffee and Puri for breakfast. We planned to cover all the major beaches and forts on the present day. We started off at around 12:00 noon for covering Aguada fort first. But Satya spotted a battle ship's name on one of the sign boards and we all went up a hill, only to know that the ship is situated some where else and ofcourse that we would not be allowed in the vicinity. From there we headed for Aguada fort. On the way, we stopped by the road side to enjoy the beauty of nature. We captured some snaps of the splendid view and then went to the fort. We had some photo sessions and recorded a few videos there.

The jail located below the fort touching the coast attracted our eyes. There was an old light house located in the fort but it seemed abandoned. Another newly built light house stood next to the fort. After coming out we had some lemon soda. I was temped to buy a Goa T-shirt but resisted as I was told that the beaches coming forth would be good for shopping. From there we headed for Candolim beach.

By the time we reached there, it started drizzling. There was an old ship standing very near to the beach. Standing only meters away, it gave us a picture as to how deep the water will be. So we decided not to go into the waters. Took a few snaps and we decided to have lunch in the restaurant 'Sunny Side Up' located there on the beach. Gautham and I decided to have some Spicy gravy with chicken with some butter nans, but got deceived as the gravy turned out to be some red soup. I really had a tough time eating the 2 butter nans and had to order butter chicken to finish my meal. From there, we headed to Calangute beach.

To our surprise, this beach was filled with tourists as compared to the previous one with only a few tourists. This one is barely 2 KMs away from the previous beach and there were many shops located near the beach. We spent some time on the beach and did some shopping and started off for the next beach - Baga

By this time, my lower back started paining more due to the previous days long ride.
Luckily the beaches are'nt far from each other. So in less than half an hour, we reached Baga beach.A canal joins the sea at this beach. We took some snaps of fishermen throwing the net into the water. After taking a few videos, we went to Anjuna beach. There we had some Soda and corn and headed down to the beach. We had to descend many steps as the beach is down at the foot of a hill..but spent very less time there as it was rocky. We went up, thinking that the steps seemed to count more while ascending than descending :P
Our next and last beach is Vagator beach. This was also down the hill. We spent very less time here as we thought of watching the sunset from the famous Chapora fort (Thanks to Dil Chahta Hai movie for showing it beautifully). The fort was visible from this beach. Gautham and Pavan (riding the Avenger) went to the actual beach while Satya and I came to a restaurant thinking that its the actual beach. Without wasting anymore time, we paced to the final destination for the day -> Chapora Fort

Even while heading for the fort, Satya and I lost track and had to come back. Thanks to the mobile phone operators, we had some signal enough to call them and find the way. In no time we reached there and parked the bikes in front of the gate. The fort looked very good from there and we were almost drained by that time. We climbed up the hill on foot and reached the fort and got bowled by the beauty nature got in store for us!! We could see the Sea on three sides and a river joining the sea. The beach we just visited was also visible. The view from the fort is just awesome!! We started capturing the beauty. I took the handycam and started running here and there trying to capture as much as I can in short span with my narration. Only after I'm done had I realized that the 'stop' button got pressed long back :(
Pavan and Satya had a good laugh and I started capturing the video again...puffing and panting.

After we are done, we descended the hill on the other end to have a good view of sunset.
Had a real good time there cracking jokes and taking stupid snaps :)

Its almost dusk when we started back to our hotel room. Before that we spotted a paraglider too. Alas!! We missed that one in the trip. As soon as we descended, I rushed to the shop on the road side to quench my thirst. We took some soft drinks and headed back. This time we drove slowly and stopped at regular intervals to make sure both the bikes are safe and sound.

We reached the hotel and had dinner there itself and dozed off.

Thats it for the third day!! :)
